B.lack A.merican N.ationalist Flag

The Late Great Godfather of Soul James Brown once said “Say it loud!!! I’m Black and I’m Proud!!!” this song fuel the fire of blacks across America during the mid 60s & the 70s. Those few words added on to a movement of self love, revolution, being black and proud. I was born in the early 70s and grew up in the 80s era of “Black Awareness”. The Icon Hip Hop group Public Enemy kept that flames burning with lyrical content that spoke of injustice, social and political issues. Many of these Iconic Hiphop groups and individuals such as: BDP, Poor Righteous Teachers, X-Clan, King Sun, Sista Souljah Brand Nubians, Queen Latifah, 2Pac, Gangstar, Eric B and Rakim, wasn’t afraid to speak and create new ideas that raise the awareness of the People.

Have things really changed? I got a BBM (black Berry Message) from a real good friend. She was explaining how her teenage son believes that; times have change for the better since the 60s. He goes on to preach that race, gender, creed, color and religion don’t matter anymore. He feels that race doesn't play an important role in the lives of some (Blacks) in America. Maybe his right or maybe his wrong. This is the same young man who after, graduating from High School will attend The United States Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland. Will he see things for the Black man really hasn't change since the boycott days of the 60s? Will he realize that YOU can sit at the Massa's table but Massa isn't going to feed you Healthily Food.

Herbert Williams was born and raised in a small town called Statesboro Georgia. Mr. Williams had a GIANT of an IDEA. The conpcet was called “B.A.N. Flag” (BLACK AMERICAN NATIONALIST) was birth into the world September 2005. The idea is to leave symbols of unity among the Christians, Muslims, Blacks, Browns and Whites of American. Also it covers the grey areas of those individuals not wanting to face the PROBLEMS that WE as AMERIKKKAns face.In retrospect, the Black American Nationalist Flag represents unity among people of color who have experienced Black America (the Good and Bad)

BLACK: (FOR THE MIND STATE and the PEOPLE)

RED: (THE BLOOD THAT WAS SHED TO BUILD AMERIKKKA)

GREY: (FOR THE BLACK/WHITE ISSUE That AMERIKKKA is afraid to Discuss)

The Cross is for the Christian World: if you look close the gallows (A gallows is a frame, typically wooden, used for execution by hanging) mirror each other to make up the cross.

The Crescent is for the Muslim World:
It's placed over the cross but not connected to it. It goes to show you that Christians and Muslims can work together, but don't have to agree on all topics. Plus, the crescent moon indicts the symbol of the Black Woman being raised to the highest degree of Respect.I'm not speaking about Black Women, but all woman across the Globe.
